A massive new update for Diablo IV is scheduled to arrive on May 13, and it looks set to be one of the biggest gameplay cleanup patches the game has seen in quite some time.
The upcoming update includes sweeping class fixes, major Talisman improvements, War Plan balancing, Horadric Cube corrections, endgame activity tweaks, UI updates, and a mountain of bug fixes touching nearly every corner of the game.
For players grinding the latest seasonal content or experimenting with the newer systems introduced in recent updates, this patch could dramatically improve the overall experience.
Talisman System Gets Major Quality-of-Life Improvements
One of the biggest highlights coming in the May 13 patch is a large wave of improvements for the Talisman system.
Set Charms will now have their own unique drop sound, making them much easier to notice during chaotic combat encounters. Blizzard is also introducing a new minimap icon for Set Charms, helping players avoid missing valuable loot while farming.

The Storm Shephard set has been heavily improved, with its 2-piece bonus now increasing the damage of all Storm Skills instead of only affecting the skill that consumed Spirit.
That is a substantial change for Storm-focused Druids and should open up smoother, stronger build rotations across multiple abilities.
To balance the broader buff, Blizzard has reduced the maximum damage bonus from 75% down to 40%, though overall the changes still appear to be a major win for the class.
The patch also updates Mark of the Old Wolf, making its Poisoning damage multiplier multiplicative instead of additive, which could result in noticeably stronger poison builds.
War Plans Receive Massive Cleanup
War Plans have clearly been a huge focus for the developers in this patch.
Blizzard is fixing a long list of frustrating issues including:
- Infinite Nemesis farming exploits
- Broken Infernal Hordes encounters
- Inconsistent rewards
- Party disbanding problems
- Broken activity tracking
- Incorrect map icons
- Progress resets after logout

Players will also gain a new ability to Teleport directly to active War Plans, making seasonal grinding significantly more convenient.
If there is no active War Plan, the teleport instead sends players to Temis.
