As spotted by data miner Redphx on Twitter, a new Game Pass tier is seemingly being planned specifically for first-party Xbox titles. The tier is referred to as Triton in its project files and appears to be a lower-priced option offering games from Xbox Game Studios. Titles spotted under this tier include DOOM Eternal, Dishonored 2, Fable Anniversary, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Gears 5, Halo 5, Halo Wars 2, Hellblade, The Elder Scrolls Online, and more. However, it is worth noting that this new tier has yet to be confirmed by Microsoft.
According to a recent report from The Verge by Tom Warren, Microsoft is allegedly in the “early stages of exploring ways” to expand Game Pass. This reportedly includes combining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a claim also corroborated by Windows Central. The report further states that Microsoft plans to add more services and third-party benefits to the subscription. As a result, another price increase is likely, particularly since PC Game Pass was the only tier left untouched after the service was revamped.
Apparently this new Game Pass “TRION” program only includes games from Xbox Studios
