As part of the v57 software update for Meta Quest headsets, the company announced Monday a bevy of new features — including more avatar customization options, an unsend message feature, group links, free-form locomotion ability in Horizon Home and a rebranded Explore feed. Meta also made improvements to video recording, multitasking and more. Starting today, the v57 update is gradually rolling out to Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 2 headsets. Meta will likely reveal more features at its Connect event later this month. Alongside today’s announcement, Meta wrote in its v57 release notes that it’s removing a casting feature…
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies needs to make one small but impactful change to high-round gameplay in Citadelle des Morts. Black Ops 6 may be about to welcome its fifth map to its already impressive roster, but fans are still calling for a fix to the title’s first post-launch DLC. Citadelle des Morts is seen by many to be the best Zombies map in recent history, but there is one small issue that tends to really frustrate fans when they get to high rounds. Citadelle des Morts Needs to Fix Helmet Zombies Call of Duty Zombies fans are…
PUBG: Battlegrounds, Krafton’s shooter that wise people have previously pointed out should really go all in and call itself Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds: Battlegrounds, has a new mode. It’s all about teaming up to battle an army of invading alien robots whose talents seemingly don’t lie in inventive naming – their mothership’s called the Mothership and the architect of their invasion of Miramar is called the Architect.
When Meta rebranded from Facebook two years ago, the word “metaverse” went mainstream. Even people outside the tech world wondered if we would soon start to socialize via virtual reality headsets. But at least according to public opinion and the stock market, the metaverse proved itself to be pretty mid. Propelled by founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s ardent vision, Meta remains committed to its dreams of a world where we attend work meetings in VR and hang out with our friends in Horizon Worlds, rather than in person. So, as Mark Zuckerberg announced the Quest 3 headset today at the…
The developers of Dead by Daylight tell me they’re extremely committed to keeping the game going as long as possible with support, crossovers, and all sorts of updates. So committed, in fact, that a sequel to the game is off the table.Speaking to me at the Game Developers Conference last month, head of partnerships at Behaviour Interactive Mathieu Cote and creative director Dave Richard chatted with me about the challenge of following up on a super successful live service game. They said that while they had thought about doing a sequel or a “remake” at different points in development, it…

The Trump administration’s labor board has ordered Amazon to recognize and bargain with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union, which represents workers at a warehouse in Staten Island. This is just the latest chapter in a multiyear standoff between Staten Island warehouse workers and Amazon, .The union has been trying to bring Amazon to the bargaining table for years to negotiate pay, benefits and workplace safety. The labor board’s proclamation doesn’t mean that the battle is over. It’s highly likely this will be settled in court. An Amazon spokesperson maintains that the vote to create the union was “wrong on the…
Ascenders: Beyond The Peak is a new turn-based roguelite in which a bunch of alpine occultists try to recover cursed artefacts from Lovecraftian mountains, before the world ends. Lotta genre references and parallels there, so let me boil it down for you: this appears to be Darkest Dungeon plus gravity. Darkest Dungeon plus slippery handholds, crumbling rock falls, blizzards, avalanches, anchor points, grappling hooks, and demolition charges. Darkest Dungeon 2 but with the wagoneering bit omitted in favour of a grid-based vertical traversal system. Instead of slumber parties in the catacombs, a Base Camp for crafting, bonding, and tending injuries.…

March 24th: Wemade’s combat-oriented MMORPG Legend of Ymir was released globally on 28th October 2025, but six months on, it’s also getting a Steam release. Infamously, Steam doesn’t allow blockchain-enabled games, so this version will be a pure web2 version that’s designed to take advantage of Steam’s massive distribution. As with all of Wemade’s blockchain games, even in the web3-enabled version of Legend of Ymir, players never have to engage with any crypto elements. Instead, these are designed to provide additional features for the most committed and advanced players. Presumably, Wemade hopes that some who play the Steam version will,…
