Mewgenics is difficult to assess; it executes some ideas incredibly well, while others are clumsy and grating. I adore its combat, which makes for excellent roguelike gameplay and has been well worth my extensive playtime. Simultaneously, the game’s humor and breeding mechanics have really brought my opinion down over time, as both elements have gotten old as my playthrough went on. Even so, the combat and breeding are two distinct parts of the game, and the former takes up so much playtime that it’s easy for me to push the latter to the side. Mewgenics makes me uncomfortable often enough…
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is one of the most anticipated games of all time, particularly among fans of the original game. Given the high expectations, it’s hard to believe this game could live up to the hype. But what if I told you that it goes above and beyond? Don’t Be Afraid of Change Image: Square Enix Final Fantasy VII Remake ends with Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Barret, and Red XIII crossing Destiny’s Crossroads and facing the never-ending blue skies outside Midgar. After a harrowing battle against Sephiroth, the party learns that Sephiroth plans to destroy the entire planet. However, thwarting…
When it was released back in 2012, the original Dragon’s Dogma was one of the most inventive RPGs of its time. The game was a commercial success and received a decent critical response, but it didn’t quite get the fanfare it deserved. Of course, the original Dragon’s Dogma still had a lot of rough edges, but had it been released a few years later, it likely would have been appreciated much more. Now, over a decade later, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is finally here, and it feels less like a sequel and more like an “I told you so” moment at…
Our Glassbreakers review was initially published as an unscored review-in-progress on November 13, 2025. After spending five weeks with the game, this was updated to a full review on December 18 with a score attached. Other adjustments were made to the review regarding its player base, co-op mode, post-launch updates, and conclusion. “Time is running out!” the voice declares urgently, and I glance up to see 30 seconds left on the clock.I’m not concerned, though. The game is close but I’m in a strong position. I watch as my opponent pushes his champions down the left lane in a desperate…
Romeo is a Dead Man reviewRomeo is a Dead Man begins as a chaotic mishmash of visual styles and storytelling ideas, and ends as an assured hack ‘n’ slash whose oddness works in its favour. Developer: Grasshopper Manufacture Publisher: Grasshopper Manufacture Release: February 11th 2026 On: Windows From: Steam Price: $50/£42/€44 Reviewed on: Intel Core i9-10900K, 32GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3090, Windows 10 Like the summonable, energy-shooting ghoul I cultivated on my spaceship’s zombie farm, Romeo is a Dead Man is a bit of a grower. After an iffy start that exhibits plenty of Grasshopper Manufacture weirdness but not much…
Reanimal reviewTarsier break away from Little Nightmares with an impressively bestial horror fantasy that veers into a No Man’s Land of wartime imagery. Developer: Tarsier Publisher: THQ Nordic Release: February 13th, 2025 On: Windows From: Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store Price: £35/$40/€40 Reviewed on: Intel Core-i7 12700F, 16GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3060, Windows 11 In an industry pestered by calls to “think of the children”, Tarsier’s games are useful reminders that children can be utterly depraved in ways no coddling adult would ever dream. Later in Reanimal, the developer’s latest, strictly ‘co-optional’ horror game, two kids rip an eyeball…
Resident Evil Requiem is quickly emerging as one of the most anticipated survival horror titles in development. With Capcom hinting at a darker narrative, more restrained gameplay, and heightened psychological tension, Resident Evil Requiem could mark a defining moment for the long-running Resident Evil franchise. After decades of shifting between action-heavy spectacle and tightly focused horror experiences, the series now appears poised to return to its most unsettling roots. Below are seven reasons Resident Evil Requiem stands out, and why fans of survival horror should be paying close attention. 1. A Return to Pure Survival Horror Early details suggest Resident…
Gaijin Entertainment knew exactly what it was doing when it came up with the name Aces of Thunder.Yes it very obviously references its own ubiquitous military mega-arena, but for flight sim fans of a certain vintage, there is a special reverence for what was later marketed as the Great Warplanes Series. These games, for those too young to have experienced them, were a DOS-era series that started with Red Baron and were quickly followed in the early 1990s by Aces of the Pacific and Aces Over Europe. My nostalgia goggles may be a little foggy, but I believe all three…
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties reviewQuirky charm and moreish busywork can’t distract from RGG’s questionable attitude to sexual assault. Developer: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio Publisher: Sega Release: February 11th/February 12th 2026 On: Windows From: Steam Price: £54.99/€59.99/$59.99 Reviewed on: Intel Core i7-12700F, 16GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, Windows 11 Excuse me, coming through. I’m Kazuma Kiryu, and I’m on my way to speak to some gruff yakuza lads about what their local gang war means for my orphanage. You can tell I’m serious because I’m riding a prototype segway dressed in nothing but a swimming cap, goggles and…
